The Mexico Girls Soccer Team picked up their first victory of the season 1-0 last (Monday) night on the road against the Moberly Spartans.

Mexico’s goal was scored by freshman Jamilet Medina Lucas, it was her third goal this season.

Freshman Paige Myers picked up her first assist of the season.

Goalie Tessa Haefling recorded 8 saves and her first shutout of the season.

Tessa averages 20 plus saves a game.

Head Coach Hayley Schafer says other notable performances were Lizzie Joiner, center back.

She was a constant ball winner on the back line making it difficult for the Spartan’s offense to get behind the back line.

Estrella Lopez and Shelby Kennemore both provided several dangerous balls into the 18 from the outside of the field.
