Mexico High School Teacher Wins National Award

A Mexico High School teacher is a winner of a national award from the National Federation of State High School Associations.

Sara Given, theatre teacher, is a section recipient of the National High School Heart of the Arts Award, given out annually to eight section winners and one national winner.

Mrs. Given won in Section 5, comprised of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, North and South Dakota.

According to the NFHS nomination form, the award recognizes those who exemplify the ideals of the positive heart of the arts that represents the core mission of education-based activities and may be given in recognition of a specific act or for an activity of longer duration.

This is Mrs. Given’s 27th year teaching at MHS.
