Missouri State Highway Patrol Releases Numbers From July 4th Counting Period

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is releasing numbers for the July 4th Holiday Counting Period.

This year, troopers worked 312 traffic crashes, down significantly from last year’s total of 1,356.

There were 124 injuries and 7 fatalities this year, compared to 671 injuries and 15 fatalities last year.

DWI arrests were nearly identical: 144 this year and 145 last year.

Water incidents remained relatively steady as well with 12 boating crashes this year and 14 last year.

Four were injured in the boating crashes and one killed, while last year there were 7 injuries and no deaths.
