Storms that roared through central and northeast Missouri Friday night into early yesterday (Saturday) morning cause considerable damage in western Ralls and eastern Monroe counties.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, straight line winds were responsible for structural damage, uprooted trees, and downed power poles and lines.
The damage path is estimated at 10 miles wide, from Rensselaer through Perry.
Damage to the boat dock and ramp area at Blackjack Marina is estimated at $1 million according to the weather service.
Estimated wind speeds of 60-80 mph blew through the area with upwards of 90 mph gusts in Perry.
In Mexico, a large tree was down at South Clark and Central streets, causing a widespread power outage in central portions of the city.
