Householder sentenced

Former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder is heading to prison. A federal judge gave Householder the maximum sentence of 20 years for bribery and racketeering in the state’s biggest public corruption scandal. A jury convicted Householder and lobbyist Matt Borges, ex-chair of the Ohio Republican Party, of racketeering in March. First Energy admitted funneling $60 million to Householder and his allies in exchange for passing a $1.3 billion dollar bailout known as House Bill 6. Prosecutors said this sends a messages to all elected officials.
