It seems like it’s not going to be long before the NFL goes to an 18 game regular season and just 1 preseason game. I know they just recently went to 17 games and dropped from 4 to 3 preseason games, but it’s going to end up at 18 and 1 soon. Most of the starters on most of the teams don’t play in any preseason games or just a few plays in them anyway. Seems like a waste anymore. Aaron Rodgers is skipping his second game this week. Joe Burrow is injured and won’t touch the field until the regular season. I mean why would the Browns put Nick Chubb or Myles Garrett or Amari Cooper out there at all until the season starts. Just use the one game to evaluate the guys that are trying to impress and make the team. Maybe add a few more joint practices with other teams and be done with it. The preseason is becoming less and less relevant. I wouldn’t be surprised if the 18 game season is here in the next 5 years. Eliminating most of the preseason is the way to go.
