A mile-long stretch of SR-44 in portage County was shut down last night due to a fire, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Around 715pm, both the northbound and the southbound lanes of SR-44 were blocked between Lake Rockwell Road and Dawley Road. First responders re-opened SR-44 by 8pm. Details on the structure fire are unknown at this time.
