The trial for 2 brothers accused of killing 17 year old Ethan Liming on June 2nd 2022 in the parking lot at the I-Promise School in Akron continues today. The two, Deshawn and Tyler Stafford, are charged with involuntary manslaughter. According to police, the pair and a 3rd man allegedly got into a fight with Liming after Liming and his friends shot rounds from a toy gun at them. An autopsy report shows Liming died after being hit and his head hit the pavement. Prosecutors contend while the brothers didn’t knowingly kill Liming, their actions led to his death. But defense attorneys argue the siblings acted in self defense under Ohio’s Stand Your Ground law. Jurors on Monday watched surveillance video from I-Promise School where the deadly fight took place. The Summit County Medical Examiner is expected to testify when the trial resumes this morning.
