What should be a very busy offseason for the Cleveland Guardians got off to a interesting start with the hiring of Stephen Vogt as the new manager. They go from the winningest and longest tenured manager in Cleveland history to an All Star catcher with no managerial experience. Last year he was the bullpen coach in Seattle. Now that the manager is in place the front office has a lot of work to do on the roster. They have a bunch of young arms, so that means they will probably trade Shane Bieber. But then they have to try for the second year in a row to get at least a couple of good hitters, one being an outfielder, in this lineup. They failed miserably with that last year and the Guardians ended up finishing 3rd in the division. To get back to the top, they need to make legitimate moves in the lineup, not just plug in players past their prime that don’t cost much and hope they can still hit, like last year’s philosophy. The owners need to let them spend money, or this team will end up just like last years team. Will they make actually big moves? I doubt it. Most fans doubt it. Proves us all wrong.
