It’s been about a year since a mill on North Water Street in Downtown Kent caught fire and exploded. The Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office said the investigation is closed and the fire is undetermined. On December 2nd, 2022, fire crews were called to the mill after black smoke was reported coming from the building. The mill has been around since the 1800’s and sat empty since its doors closed in 2017. No one was severely injured.
