The Cavaliers are 36 and 17 and sitting in the 2 spot in the Eastern Conference as the NBA hits the All-Star break. They have done this with both Evan Mobley and Darius Garland missing significant time due to injuries. They both recently returned to the team and the Cavs continue to roll. They are 23 and 5 since December 16th, which is the best record in the NBA through that stretch. Donovan Mitchell has been playing at an MVP level and Jarrett Allen has become a double double machine. 29 games left for this team to get into a solidly good position for the playoffs. We just have to hope they handle the playoffs much better than last year when they got crushed by the Knicks. I feel like this season could end much differently for the Cavs. If they keep playing the way they are and avoid the injuries. I guess we shall see in April. But from the looks of it, they look like contenders. Let’s see if they prove that during playoff time.
