A three-story building fire inside the abandoned Ace Rubber Products building in Akron closed off a portion of downtown Wednesday night. Flames and smoke were seen coming from Beach Street off of North Howard Street, which was closed off at Martin Luther King Boulevard. Fire crews remain on the scene this morning, at 100 Beach Street. According to a press release, the department does not believe there are toxic chemicals inside the three-story structure, which was completely engulfed in flames. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported, and the building is not near any homes or businesses. Five different companies responded to the incident. A number of roads in the area were closed, many have reopened.
