Akron mayor Shammas Malik unveiled the city’s new snowplow tracker and dashboard available during a winter weather event. Malik said the website will include near real-time information about the city’s snow and ice operations as they are happening. The dashboard also features the city’s snow and ice plan, response levels, street priorities, and other information. Mailk said, a resident will be able to use the dashboard to determine what priority their street is, when was the last time it was serviced during a storm, if there is any parking ban they need to be aware of, and it will allow them to enter a service request if needed directly through the dashboard. Any issues with the dashboard can be reported through 3-1-1.
