Akron city leaders are fuming over a drastic rate hike proposed for Dominion Energy customers. The utility company is asking regulators to approve a 30% increase on its basic service charge, taking effect in 2025. On top of the 30% fee increase, consumers could also expect add-0n monthly charges, known as “riders”. Dominion is proposing an $8.78 per month rider this year, with more add-on charges of up to $29.69 per month by 2032.
