Victim identified in Akron homicide

The victim has been identified in Monday night’s fatal shooting in Akron. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 37 year old man as Gregory Bernard Dykes of Akron. The autopsy has been completed and the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. Manner of death is homicide. Around 10pm Monday, officers responded to a shooting in an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Everton Drive. When they arrived, they found the man on the 8th floor of the high rise with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.
