In Akron, residents will be asked to vote on a new school levy, possibly as early as fall. School board members approved the proposal yesterday. It includes a $1.3 million bond issue to build a new North High School and a 7.6 million operating levy. If it makes it to the November ballot and passes it would generate about %26 million annually for district operations. The board vote was unanimous. Under the proposal the combined cost to Akron taxpayers would be $311 annually for every $100,000 of their property’s value.
