The first place Guardians look like they will still be sitting in the top spot in the AL Central when we get to the All Star break. They have one of the best bullpens and best closers in baseball. They have had a solid lineup with Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, and David Fry leading the way. What they need in order to make a playoff push and go deep into the playoffs is at least one starter, maybe two and probably one more bat. The hope is the is the team has 3 good 3 starters at the moment: Tanner Bibee, Logan Allen, Ben Lively, then possibly when Gavin Williams returns from injury maybe they will only need to find one. But two starters would be a good idea for insurance. And another solid hitter would also help. It comes down to whether the Dolan ownership will sit on their hands as they usually do or let the front office go for it this year. This team has a legitimate shot, if the Dolans let the GM spend and makes some moves. It remains to be seen if they will. We can all hope this is finally the year they do. Because this team feels like some of those ones we watched in the 90’s. The owners would be fools to let this team stay status quo and waste another year of Jose Ramirez, when this team looks like contenders. I want to believe they will make the moves necessary, but none of us will believe it until we see it.
