Gas prices around NE Ohio have dropped to under $3 a gallon at many gas stations. GasBuddy reports the average gasoline prices have dropped about 15 cents a gallon over the last week, averaging about $2.94 a gallon. That’s 48 cents lower than this time last year. And look for prices to continue to drop. Once you get past mid-September there is a switch by a lot of gasoline producers to the cheaper to make winter blend. Also, a seasonal drop in demand, lower oil prices, and a hurricane season that has not disrupted refineries, are pushing prices lower.
