It was a pretty surprising and a pretty successful season for the Cleveland Guardians. One that saw them get all the way to the American League Championship Series before losing to the Yankees. They did this with a great bullpen, an offense that started to come together, and a starting pitching staff that was struck by injuries all season long. So now what do they do in the offseason?? It’s a possibility that Josh Naylor heads off elsewhere and they may decide to put Kyle Manzardo at first base. Will they try to sign Shane Bieber after the pitcher is coming off another injury??? This team is never is in the market for any of the top tier free agents. We all know the ownership are never big spenders. In fact some seasons they don’t seem to spend much at all. Will they finally open the pocketbook up a little instead of just looking for bargain basement players to fill holes?? Chances are no, but as a fan we have to hope they finally do a little. This team needs a few starters in their rotation and at least 1 bat maybe 2. It’s possible they could get take the next step to the World Series if they do that. It’s just the ownership doesn’t have a track record of doing what is necessary to win. Is it different this year???? Let’s hope so. The window for this team to get to the World Series is open and with a few more players could stay open for a few years. For once the owners need to step up and spend the money. Just none of us have faith that they will.
