It opened in 1916, and 109 years later, it’s coming down. Kenmore High School in Akron is being demolished. Over the years, add-ons and improvements were made to the school. Citing declining enrollment, the Akron School Board voted to merge Kenmore and Garfield High School after the 2016-2017 year. The last classes were held in 2022 before students were transferred to Garfield Community Learning Center.
