Man convicted of aggravated assault

A 39 year old Akron man was sentenced to 9 years in prison for aggravated vehicular assault after causing a serious collision while driving drunk. Darrell Vanhorn was found guilty of 3 counts of aggravated vehicular assault and one count of operating a vehicle while under the influence. In August of 2020, Vanhorn was travelling at a high rate of speed and ran a stop sign, hit another vehicle, pushing it into a house, totaling both vehicles. Three people were injured, two which sustained serious injuries. Vanhorn’s BAC was .198.
