Stow man sentenced for selling bogus body armor

A 70 year old Stow man was sentenced this week for selling bogus body armor. Vall Iliev was sentenced to 63 months in jail, and also will have to pay approximately $5.2 million in restitution. He is accused of working with a Chinese broker and manufacturers to make a cheap version of body armor, then relabeling them as U.S. made and transporting the armor products to a Stow warehouse where he sold the products. One of the customers was the Akron Police Department.
