It should be an interesting couple of weeks leading up to the trade deadline for the Cleveland Guardians. After a 10 game losing streak that put them well below 500 they did win 4 in a row to get back some that they lost. But the division race for them is already over. They could hang in the wild card race for a while, but this does not look anything like a competitive playoff team even if they sneak into a wild card spot. The hitting is just too lackluster outside of Kwan and Ramirez. So the expectation should be for them to be sellers and not buyers. Watch for Carlos Santana, and maybe a few relievers to be moved, including possibly Emmanuel Clase. What a waste of a season a year after making the ALCS. Time to figure out how to turn it around for next year. Let’s hope the get it right next time.
