A community is mourning after an unthinkable tragedy during a Memorial Day Parade in green. A 13 year old boy died after he fell from a parade float and was run over. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office says, the 13 year old boy was riding in the front of a parade trailer being pulled by a pickup truck when he fell off and was run over by the same one he was riding on. The teen was rushed to Akron Children’s Hospital but was pronounced dead from his injuries. The incident happened near the end of the parade route. The teen was a 7th grade student at North Canton City Schools. Grief counselors will be on hand this week. The Summit Metro Crash Team is assisting with the investigation, and right now no one is facing any criminal charges.
